Cast of Characters

Capt. Creel:

A Real Sailor and a live-aboard sailboater, the feared Captain of an Internet discussion group, works as a postman and net troller. A messianic advocate of independence, the social and sexual supremacy of Real Sailors, and heroic sanitary arrangements.
___________________
P.C.:
A Virtual Sailor. Expert, sensitive, a seeker after harmony, only occasionally displaying homicidal fits of rage. Intolerant of Capt Creel, and in love with Katysails' cooking. English.
___________________
Katysails:
A virtual sea-cook, unique as the only Internet subscriber with a conscience. Appreciates PC's sterling qualities and detests Capt Creel.
___________________
"Gilligan":
A master manipulator, working as an industrial-grade sycophant to Capt. Creel, as a gunsmith, and as a virtual breeder of flying monkeys.
___________________
Tadpole:
Gilligan's assistant puppetmaster, owner of a sailing packing case, a down-under smart-ass.
___________________
Seahag:
A lost soul, the surviving archive of the newsgroup. Several feet in each camp.
___________________
Bobsprit:
A pottymouth buffoon, skipper of sailboat "Ghost" and proud owner of numerous CDs.
___________________
Lady Sailor:
Katysails' virtual offsider, permanently on the side of civilisation after an initial slip.
___________________
Ghost Girls:
Bobsprit's possibly female virtual crew of his sailboat "Ghost", providing what passes for a female chorus.
___________________
E.C. Men
Bureaucratic virtual enforcers from the European Community (now the European Union).
___________________
Motorboaters:
Mercurial powers of darkness
___________________
THE CHORUS:
Wholly male; a mordant rabble of middle-aged suburban wannabe virtual sailors forming the bulk of the newsgroup. Three speakers within the Chorus, the Irishman, the Turnip and the King.
